Feeling Unheard? Leadership Doesn’t Wait For Permission. RISE AND RUN!

Leadership doesn’t wait for permission.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton didn’t.
Shirley Chisholm didn’t.

They stepped forward because the moment demanded it — and women today deserve the tools and confidence to do the same.

That belief is at the heart of Rise & Run, a nonpartisan political empowerment workshop taking place January 30–31, 2026 at Lindenwood University. This program exists because too many qualified, capable women are discouraged from entering public service — not due to lack of talent, but because of structural barriers, limited access to networks, fundraising challenges, and the persistent confidence gap women face when considering leadership roles.

Nina Needleman’s passion for underwriting Rise & Run comes from a simple but powerful truth:

If women are underrepresented at decision-making tables, communities lose voices, perspectives, and solutions. Investing in education and access — not ideology — is how we begin to change that.

Rise & Run offers real-world, practical experience, not theory:

  • How campaigns actually work

  • What it takes to run — or support someone who does

  • How to navigate fundraising, messaging, and public scrutiny

  • How to assess readiness and build confidence

The workshop features experienced speakers from across the political spectrum, including respected civic leaders and keynote voices known for collaboration, service, and governance — reinforcing that this work is about cooperation, not partisanship.

Just as importantly, Rise & Run is not a one-time event. It’s the beginning of an ongoing support network designed to continue guiding women as they explore next steps, build skills, and stay connected throughout the process.
